Power Salad returns for a quickie Cooked up for Marscon 2009. The Food Show celebrates food artistes, and wonders how anyone could eat those teeny little works of art that take hours to make! Also included is “Clean Attic Blues”, which laments our throwaway culture, especially if there’s a buck to be made off our precious memories; also there are 2 pre-hysterical recordings from our earlier days, 2 rare tracks with Chris and various cohorts as “Zingmaster Z and the Timid”! Not for the faint of funk.

Power Salad returns with their biggest hit yet “Hold On, I’ve Got To Take This”, the #1 song of 2008 on the “Dr. Demento Show”, described as “possibly the most beautiful song ever written about a cellphone being shoved up an orifice.” Another multi-styled musical ride, touching on everything from cool jazz to straight ahead rock to some Nutty Sounds and even some Cheerful Insanity! Also contains the Dr. Demento picks “Tabloid Heroes” and “Mr. Most Important Person”.

Well, here we go, the third Power Salad album. Propelled along by the success of “My Cat Is Afraid of the Vacuum Cleaner”, here’s another wide bunch o’ Salad tunes.

Well, after 2 years of bringing Power Salad to the adoring demented masses, performing at groovy conventions here n there and being on fun radio programs, it came time to expand the canon some – - the result is THE WHITE-OUT ALBUM. More style parodies and a few song parodies for the heck of it. Contains the Dr. Demento Funny Five hit “Cellphone on the Highway”. And not only that, Mason Williams officially digs “Them Masonwilliams”!

A bit of pre-history for your potential laughing pleasure. Zot Theater was the predecessor of Power Salad, and was a somewhat-monthly surreal sketch comedy program airing on The University of Akron’s WAUP-FM. This disc contains a remix of their Dr Demento hit from 1985 as well as some contemporary sketches from the Zot programs of that time and a bit of history in the liner notes.
